うっとうしい天気が続いています。何だか、皮肉ですね。つい先日ビーチなんて行ったのに。

ヒマワリ

This photo reminded me of a chinese novel I read a very long time ago.

I forgot what the story was about, but it illustrated the intricate relationship  between a boy and his school teacher. The title was 向日葵, or sunflower in mandarin.

It’s very intriguing how certain images can evoke thoughts, feelings, reflection, all from the obscured depths of your memory. Although I cannot recall the exact narrative of the novel, I can sense fleetingly, the same sentiments that tugged at me so many years ago. Albeit in the incarnation of a fainter, ephemeral form.

A field of sunflowers, a boy on a bike, two persons painting a mural on a wall. The memory of receiving warmth and having smiled from reading it.

I’m glad I could feel that story again.
